Twitter patent intend the word ‘Tweet’
Service mikroblogging Twitter, intend to patent the word ‘tweet’ that is inherent in the site. Why?
Twitter own reasoned, if the plan had to be done to prevent confusion, and abuse. Because of this there are some applications that use the word ‘tweet’ as, TweetDeck, TweetMeme. Tweetie, or BackTweets. Society thought, those words have a relationship with Twitter.
“We receive so many emails, that many feel disappointed because the misused word tweet to third-party developers,” said Co-founder Biz Stone, from PC World, Friday (7/3/2009).
“Patent word tweet useful to avoid the confusion of Twitter users, as well as to prevent something that does not want to,” he said.
However, Twitter does not want too rigid in front of it to use the tweet. For, they will consider some exceptions, for some developers to keep using the word tweet. Especially as for the interests of Twitter itself.
